Clarence “Sam” Nixon Jr. of Wyandotte died Friday, Aug. 5, after a long and courageous battle with myelodysplastic syndrome, a bone marrow disorder. He was 76.
He is survived by his children, Bridget Brimm, Tina Nixon, Gretchen (John) Nixon-Wesserling, and Heidi (Robert Gagnier) Nixon; his siblings, Virginia (Howard) Renfer, Phillip (Betty) Nixon, Bruce Nixon and Curtis Nixon; and his grandchildren, Emily, Austin and Devan.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ammar Kanaan, Dr. Mayur Patel and the 6th floor nursing staff at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 8, at 11 a.m., followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service at the R.J. Nixon Funeral Home, 2544 Biddle Ave., in Wyandotte.
