Wyandotte Seniors Upcoming Fun Outings

  • January 3, 2013

There are a few outings scheduled for seniors through the Wyandotte Copeland Center that have openings.  Reservations are being taken now.  Don't miss out!  Anyone interested in the fast approaching outing to Hollywood Casino with the nearby Southgate Senior group should sign up now!   There are only a few spots left!   Also check out the others:

January 14 - Hollywood Casino - Now that it's quieter after the holiday chaos, come enjoy the day at this new non-smoking facility.  Travel by Bianco deluxe motorcoach to this casino with over 2,000 Vegas-style slots, 20 table games, 20 poker tables and fine dining with red carpet service. Everyone will receive $5 in coin to be used at the casino and we will be leaving for this one with our neighbors at the Southgate Senior Center site this time.  You may still sign up at Copeland Center until the last few spots get filled for only $28.

* January 31 -  Motor City Casino for some excitement and fun?  Transportation via comfortable motorcoach for a day of excitement at reel games, video poker, slots, and gaming tables.  Everyone will receive a players club card with $25.00 in reward play (added to the Club Metro Player's card).  Already a winner for only $18 cost for this trip.

*February 27 -  Dinner (Rub BBQ) and Lion King - Experience a wonderful evening out starting with dinner at 5 pm before heading to the Detroit Opera House for evening performance of Disney's THE LION KING - the highest grossing Broadway show in history!  Newsweek called this sensation "a landmark event in entertainment".  Total cost for transportation (departure site such as Wyandotte or Lincoln Park for example depends on passenger count), driver's tip along with dinner and show is $130 per person.

March 16 - Zehnder's of Frankenmuth Luncheon Show - featuring "Air Margaritaville, A Tribute to Jimmy Buffet" Book early for this Saturday of fun.  This Musical Tribute to Buffet's style Caribbean Soul includes songs that Parrotheads know by heart - Cheeseburger in Paradise, Fins, and Volcano to the current hits like Bama Breeze and It's Five O'Clock Somewhere.  This group was nominated in 2012 for a Detroit Music Award as Outstanding Tribute Act.   Shopping time at the Zehnder's Marketplace also allowed.   Motorcoach transportation, lunch and show for only $78.

* March 18 - Soaring Eagle Casino with Celtic Crossroads performance.  Enjoy free time to gamble during the day at this casino in Mt. Pleasant and you will receive a $20 coin coupon and a $5 food voucher to use on this great day!  Then you'll be treated to "Celtic Crossroads" (4:00 pm free show) from Ireland presenting Irish music like never before.  Seven world-class musicians will captivate you with a wonderful fusion of musical genres in the Irish music family playing over twenty musical instruments.    Come try your luck and come celebrate with this fantastic spectacle for just $38.

Stop on in to the Copeland Center, 2306 Fourth St. in Wyandotte in the day during the week to pick up a flyer for a calendar of activities, newsletter, upcoming events, or trips.  All outings are payable by check or money order only. For more information or office hours phone 734-324-7275 or stop by to see Joanne Lanagan at the Copeland Center office.
