Have a Ping Pong Table? Ties to Vietnam? Wyandotte Teachers Want You

Roosevelt High School teachers are asking for donations and community input for new classes.

Do you have an old ping pong table sitting around gathering dust?

Or maybe you know a local person with Vietnam ties who'd be willing to share their story?

Either way, teachers at Wyandotte's Roosevelt High School are looking for your help.

While outlining new courses being offered at Roosevelt, two teachers put out a request for help from the public at Tuesday's Board of Education meeting.

Speaking on behalf of the new Advanced Individual Sports class, Rico Pascuzzi said the class will touch on a number of sports, including badminton, bowling and disc golf. Table tennis also is on the list of possibilities, but Pascuzzi said the district didn't have enough tables to allow the entire class to play at once.

Anyone who has one who'd like to donate it to the school can contact Pascuzzi at pascuzr@wy.k12.mi.us.

Speaking on behalf of his new Vietnam History & Literature course, Warren Baker put out a plea for anyone with ties to Vietnam and who's willing to speak to students about their experience. Baker can be reached at bakerw@wy.k12.mi.us.

My dad is a Vietnam Vet who graduated from Roosevelt. He is also a retired high school principal, I will ask him if he is interested. It sounds like an interesting class, I would have liked to have taken it when I was there.
