Workers should have the right to choose. It gives the members a greater say in how the unions operate. Ironically, that is what the unions strive for regarding the operation of the company. It also makes the union leadership more accountable to its members. Now they have to prove to the workers the benefits of membership. It is all about transparency and accountability.
