Do you know of a special woman in Wyandotte?
You've got just a few days to nominate her for the upcoming 2013 Wyandotte Women of the Year celebration.
Two nonprofit organizations — Women of Wyandotte and the Wyandotte Jaycees — are looking for special women who have gone above and beyond to help their community, their family or someone else.
Honorees must live in Wyandotte and be at least 18 years old.
Nominations can be made by email to wow@wyan.org or by fax to 734-284-5566, attention: WOW. The deadline is Dec. 31. The form can be downloaded under the PDF tab to the right.
Winners will be honored during a weeklong celebration in February, culminating with the Women of the Year Gala on Feb. 16.
The woman who wins the Jaycees award also will be nominated for the Michigan Jaycees Outstanding Young Michigander Award and potentially to the U.S. Jaycees for their Ten Outstanding Young Americans Award.
For more information, contact Sheri Sutherby-Fricke, founder and president of WOW, at 734-552-6077 or Michelle Kelley of the Jaycees at 734-771-4475.

Hey, Sue. I've never heard mention of a Dec. 1 deadline. Both the press release and the nomination form say Dec. 31.

Jason, I picked up a nominating form from last year's event. I am looking at it right now. Nomination Criteria ... #4. Nominations must be received by December 1st each year for February recognition. What do you make of that ?
