Truvy, Cal Are Looking for New Homes

Shelter to Home, Wyandotte Animal Pound and WAG Animal Rescue have a multitude of animals available for adoption.

Each week, Wyandotte Patch features adoptable pets from Wyandotte.

Maggie Morawski, a volunteer with , introduces us to Truvy and Cal the cats:

Truvy is a beautiful brown short hair Tabby cat. She is believed to be about 1 or 2 years old. She was rescued from an overcrowded shelter. She is very social and loves to play hard when she wrestles with the other cats. She is looking for a wonderful human to love and give her a forever loving home. Truvy has been spayed, dewormed, given flea preventative and tested negative for feline AIDS and feline Leukemia. She is current on her rabies and distemper vaccines.

Cal is a handsome Russian Blue/Domestic Short Hair mix. He has a gorgeous silver-blue coat. Cal is about 1 year old, so he still has lots of energy. He loves play wrestling with other cats, yet he still loves to snuggle with his human. He has been neutered, dewormed, given flea preventative and tested negative for feline AIDS and feline Leukemia. He is current on his rabies and distemper vaccines.

The is located at 266 Oak St. Adoptions are done by appointment only. The Pet Adoption Center is open from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays for tours and visiting with some of our adoptable cats in a home-like setting. Cats also are on display in the Luv-A-Pet Center at the Canton PetSmart, 41856 Ford Road. Rose Darin, a volunteer at the , introduces us to Jynx and Sonny the cats:

Jynx is an extremely friendly and handsome domestic short hair Tuxedo cat. He loves to interact with people. He will cuddle or play and do whatever you are in the mood for. He's been classified as large, but that's due to his long legs rather than his weight. Jynx is ready for a loving home to spend the rest of his days with.

Sonny is a domestic short hair gray Tabby. He was brought to the pound when his owners moved out. They took everything except for him and his sister, Cher. They were left alone for two days without food or heat before the landlord dropped them off at the pound. Sonny is one of those cats who acts more like a dog than a cat. He's bigger than some dogs too, for that matter. He is a very affectionate cat. He is waiting for a family who will never abandon him again.

The  is located at 1170 Grove St. Adoptions are done 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday. An entire list, including photographs and descriptions, of all the pound's adoptable animals can be found on its website. The pound also can be contacted through email.

Vickie Taylor, vice president of WAG Animal Rescue, introduces us to Kali the cat and Cupcake the dog:

Kali is a sweetie. She is 1 year old, spayed and current on all of her vaccines. She is looking for a home that will give her lots of love and attention. Kali is a beautiful cat with a great personality.

We do not know Cupcake’s breed, but the vet thinks she might be a shepherd and collie mix. We say she is half cute and half adorable. Cupcake is 6 months old and weighs 28 pounds. She will probably be a 40-pound, medium-sized dog when fully grown. She is very outgoing and sweet. She is black and reddish brown, with white on the tip of her tail. She has the cutest ears and is very fuzzy.

Anyone interested in adopting an animal from WAG is encouraged to visit the group's website and fill out an application online. The group's animals are on display every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Livonia PetSmart, 13150 Middlebelt. As not all animals are brought up each week, potential adopters are encouraged to email the group to make arrangements for a particular animal to be available to be seen. An entire list, including photographs and descriptions, of all the group's adoptable animals can be found on its website.
