Wyandotte Ponderosa Closing on Saturday
The restaurant is closing after owners were unable to come to an agreement on the building lease.
The Ponderosa Steakhouse in Wyandotte is closing its doors for good on Saturday.
"This comes from a heavy heart as we announce the closing of our Wyandotte location," the company said in a written statement. "Unfortunately, we were unable to come to an agreement on our building lease. ... After more than 40 years serving Downriver, we are very thankful to have made wonderful friends, worked with some amazing people, and along the way, became a family."
Lauri Murray of Ponderosa Metro Detroit said the closing was a surprising decision.
"This came as a shock to all of us and we are extremely sad to say goodbye to our friends and family in Wyandotte, Trenton, Southgate and
more," she said. "We have no words to describe how devastated we are about this situation, especially during the holiday season."
Ponderosa gift cards and coupons can be redeemed at any of the other seven metropolitan Detroit locations, Murray said. For a list of those, visit the company's website.

Very sorry and sad to hear of the closing of this long time establishment of Wyandotte. Have many good memories of birthday celebrations and enjoyable meals with friends and family through the years.

Oh this is sad. Surely they should of had this on the news so I could get a last meal in. I love those chicken wing dings. *Plays the Undertaker theme song from WWE*
