Just in time for fall and colder temperatures is the Wyandotte Business Association’s Chili Cook-off.

A number of Wyandotte businesses will be selling chili and beer from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Biddle and Sycamore streets. The event is held in conjunction with the monthly Third Friday celebration.

Judging will be at 7 p.m., with a team of judges awarding cash prizes and trophies for the top three dishes. Customers also will be asked to vote for the People’s Choice award, which will receive a cash prize.

New this year, 101 WRIF will be broadcasting live from the event and offering a $1,000 prize for the best costume. WRIF also will be at the Stone Pub for a Third Friday After Party.

A band, The Sellouts, will perform from 5 to 9 p.m.

The Wyandotte Family Church also will be hosting family fun activities, including a beanbag toss and Don’t Spill the Beans game, at the clock tower near Biddle and Maple. Those who stop by can enter for a chance to win a $40 gift card to Chili’s.

There will be complimentary trolley rides to local restaurants, bars and stores. In addition, Indian Lanes Bowling Alley will have family fun with Cosmic Bowling from 9:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
