You've Got Photos: Cash Mob at Fine Things
Shoppers walked away with deals and prizes during Wednesday's cash mob at Fine Things.
More than 100 people "mobbed" Fine Things on Wednesday during Wyandotte Patch's first cash mob.
Shoppers walked away with deals from the store and prizes from Patch, as well as event co-sponsors, the Wyandotte Downtown Development Authority and the Wyandotte Business Association.
There were games for shoppers to play outside and discounts to be had inside.
Store owners Mieka Wheeler and Debby Ouellette said the event was a clear success. Compared to a typical Wednesday, Wheeler said, the store did three times as much business during the cash mob.
"We did more business from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight than we did all of last Third Friday," she said. "And last Third Friday was good, but this far surpassed that. And in just two hours."
