Wyandotte Country Singer Auditions for 'The Voice'

A country singer from Wyandotte has been invited to tryout for 'The Voice' in Nashville.

Adrienne Charles of Wyandotte said Tuesday in a YouTube video that she will be auditioning Feb. 1 in Nashville for the NBC show “The Voice.”

A self-professed “closet singer,” Charles, 33, has been singing most of her life, but only recently decided to step out of the karaoke scene and into the spotlight.

“I didn’t really tell people because I was extremely shy,” Charles said in the video. “Still am for the most part, but I got…out of my shell quite a bit over the past five or 10 years.”

Although, Charles admits nothing is set in stone yet.

"I know it's hard to get on these kinds of shows. When I auditioned that Sunday they told me I may get a call back and I may not," she said.

"In the meantime, they said I could audition elsewhere just in case they don't call me for whatever reason."

So, next weekend she plans to audition for NBC’s neighbor show “America’s Got Talent.”

Either way, "I’m going to be pretty busy these next couple weeks so wish me luck on that,” she added.

Good luck!
