All-White Cat, Energetic Dog Are Up for Adoption

WAG Animal Rescue and Wyandotte Animal Pound have a multitude of animals needing homes.

Each week, Wyandotte Patch features adoptable pets from both  and WAG Animal Rescue.

Vickie Taylor, vice president of WAG Animal Rescue, introduces us to Galaxy the cat and Halo the dog:

Galaxy is a 2-year-old neutered male. He is a very loving and laid-back white cat. He gets along well with other cats and loves people, too.

Halo is a gorgeous white shepherd mix. He has been with us for a while and really needs a home of his own. He will need a privacy fence at his new house. Halo is a sweet dog with a ton of energy.

Anyone interested in adopting an animal from WAG is encouraged to visit the group's website and fill out an application online. The group's animals are on display every Saturday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Livonia PetSmart, 13150 Middlebelt. As not all animals are brought each week, potential adopters are encouraged to email the group to make arrangements for a particular animal to be available to be seen. An entire list, including photographs and descriptions, of all the group's adoptable animals can be found on its website.

Jill Knight Skoviak, a volunteer at the , introduces us to Hallie the cat and Troy the dog:

Hallie is a 2-year-old tortoiseshell cat. She is a total lap cat and loves to be petted for hours. She loves being around other animals.  Hallie is spayed and current on vaccinations.

Troy is a young pit mix. He is friendly, sweet and loves belly rubs. He does well with other dogs, but is a bit scared of cats. Troy is heartworm positive and is receiving treatment, thanks to generous donations from the public. He will be available for adoption in a couple weeks once his treatment is complete. Our shelter has already had two heartworm-positive dogs this year. Please give your dogs monthly heartworm treatment to prevent this horrible, totally preventable disease.

The  is located at 1170 Grove St. Adoptions are done from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday. An entire list, including photographs and descriptions of all the pound's adoptable animals, can be found on its website. The pound also can be contacted through email.
