Animal Interrupted: Animal Rescue Group Protest Circus in Wyandotte

Protesters said animals used in the circus should be in the wild.

The Southeastern Michigan Animal Rights Team protested a circus at Yack Arena in Wyandotte Saturday.

About 20 members of the animal rights group stood in front of Yack Arena holding signs protesting animal cruelty.

Protesters said they strongly feel circuses are prime examples of animal cruelty.

"They belong in the wild, not the circus," one protester said.

Circus Pages performed two shows at the arena. The circus company visits the arena each year.

"We have demonstrations against every animal circus, including Circus Pages, anytime they come to town," the protester said.
