Fundraiser to Aid Wyandotte Clinic for the Working Uninsured

The event includes hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine, desserts, entertainment and a silent auction.

Money raised at a Thursday night fundraiser will help a Wyandotte clinic continue to offer free heath services for people with a job, but without insurance.

The annual Giving Hearts Celebration will benefit the Wyandotte Clinic for the Working Uninsured, which provides a variety of health care services to Downriver residents who are working but without medical insurance.

Services range from primary care office visits, including diabetes and hypertension management; women’s health checkup, pap smears and breast exams; podiatric services; nutrition counseling; work physicals and referrals. Patients must be at least 18 years old with proof of current employment with no medical insurance benefits.

Tickets for the Thursday shindig at Portofino are $40 each or two for $75. The event runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. and includes hors d'oeuvres, beer, wine, desserts, entertainment and a silent auction.

Special Valentine treats and gifts also will be available for purchase.

To purchase tickets or for more information, call 734-365-3002.

This is a slap in the face... I lost my job in October and lost my health insurance shortly after... I applied thru the DHS and got denied.... and at the same time searching frantically for a job.... Like I said, just another slap in the face for the people that are really trying out there...
