Great Escape: Get Lost In the Wyandotte Library

Today’s escape is simple and free.

Head over to and enjoy the air-conditioned quiet.

Flip through books, magazines or a newspaper. The Bacon home is open to the public, including the front porch which has comfortable outdoor furniture.

You can sit on the porch and enjoy the shade of the trees. Or pick a room and enjoy the architecture. Bring your own covered beverage along to sip on.

While you are there, register for the adult summer reading program which is under way. The first 50 people to enter will receive a free tote bag. Each time you read a book, you may fill out a slip to win a weekly prize drawing.

Drawings begin Monday and continue through July 30. By registering and reading two books during the summer, you will be eligible for a grand prize drawing in August.
