Great Escape: Wyandotte Homecoming Social

Catch up with Roosevelt High School alumni Friday at the Wyandotte Boat Club after the game.

This week’s escape is for the Bears–the Bears.

with a game on Friday against Taylor Truman High School and a dance the following night.

The RHS Alumni Football Club is celebrating after the game by hosting a homecoming social at the . This is the sixth year the alumni club has hosted the event. President Dan Cusson said the event started as a way to get the community involved in the club.

“The Wyandotte community is one big family, and so are the Bears,” Cusson said. “We figured, why not get the two groups together and have fun?”

The club is hoping to attract new members through the event.

“It’s almost like a class reunion,” Cusson said. “It’s a way to be a part of our community.”

The RHS Alumni Football Club is providing sliders and pierogies catered by and pizza from later in the evening. They also plan on having hourly 50/50 raffles.

Entry to the event and food are free. The Wyandotte Boat Club has a cash bar and will be offering drink specials.

Whether you are alumni, a current fan or just looking for a fun night out, head to the Wyandotte Boat Club at 9 p.m. Friday for some socializing.
