Helicopter Touches Down in Parking Lot at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital

You: "Why has a helicopter been circling my block for the past hour?" Us: "Click to find out!"

Did you see the helicopter at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital Thursday?

The emergency medical helicopter, emblazoned with the hospital colors and logo, was on site as part of a practice exercise.

There were hospital officials filming and photographing the helicopter as it landed and took off for internal purposes, according to Dwight Angell, director of media relations for Henry Ford Health Systems.

The helicopter landed on and took off from the north parking lot just steps away from the emergency room entrance.

"The hospital was practicing a landing with Henry Ford Hospital's helicopter in the event an air transport needed to be made," Angell said in an email. "It's part of our overall ambulance exercises."

The helicopter's presence at the hospital was not patient related.
