JuJube, Tallulah Are Looking For New Homes

Shelter to Home, Wyandotte Animal Pound and WAG Animal Rescue have a multitude of animals available for adoption.

Each week, Wyandotte Patch features adoptable pets from Wyandotte.

Cathy McCormick, a volunteer with Shelter to Home, introduces us to JuJube and Talulah the cats:

Tallulah came from a pound where she was passed up many times because she was your typical tabby adult cat during kitten season. She came to our group and is now in a home setting where she is with other felines and canines. Tallulah is making herself at home and enjoying her freedom. She has been spayed, tested negative for feline AIDS and leukemia and is current on vaccines.

JuJube is a handsome cat who was returned to our rescue after his adoption as a kitten because circumstances changed in his former home. He is a very sweet and social and loves to be petted. JuJube has been neutered, tested negative for feline AIDS and leukemia and is current on vaccines.

The Shelter to Home Pet Adoption Center is located at 266 Oak St. Adoptions are done by appointment only. The Pet Adoption Center is open from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays for tours and visiting with some of our adoptable cats in a home-like setting. Cats also are on display in the Luv-A-Pet Center at the Canton PetSmart, 41856 Ford Road. An entire list, including photographs and descriptions, of all Shelter to Home's adoptable animals can be found on its website. Shelter to Home can be contacted by phone at 734-556-3135 and through email.

Rose Darin, a volunteer at the Wyandotte Animal Pound, introduces us to Lourdes and Gigi the cats:

Lourdes is a senior brown tabby who is new to the shelter, but is a very lovable older cat with a lot to offer. She has a sweet face and likes to people watch. She is so comical and is sure to make you smile. She is spayed, up to date on routine vaccines, dewormed, tested negative for feline AIDS and leukemia and is litter box trained.

Gigi is a young, sweet dilute torti who will meow and rub against you for attention. She loves to have her ears scratched and will give you elevator up when getting a full body pet to tell you that she wants more. She is spayed, up to date on routine vaccines, dewormed, tested negative for feline AIDS and leukemia and litter box trained.

The Wyandotte Animal Pound is located at 1170 Grove St. Adoptions are done 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday. An entire list, including photographs and descriptions, of all the pound's adoptable animals can be found on its website. The pound also can be contacted through email.

Emily Solomchuck, a volunteer at WAG Animal Rescue, introduces us to Aubrey the cat and Pickles the dog:

Aubrey is about 1year old. She also goes by Little Ground Hog because she sits up on her hind legs like a ground hog about 50% of the time and by Clyde because she walks around like a Clydesdale horse with her head down, tilted sideways with her paws prancing. She is one very strange cat, but she is also sweet and loves people.

Pickles is full of sweet puppy kisses, love and energy. She is on the go all the time and nothing seems to tire her out. We are working on housebreaking her, but she does not like being out in the cold weather for too long. An active family would be great for this girl. She also requires a fenced-in yard.

Anyone interested in adopting an animal from WAG is encouraged to visit the group's website and fill out an application online. The group's animals are on display every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Livonia PetSmart, 13150 Middlebelt. As not all animals are brought up each week, potential adopters are encouraged to email the group to make arrangements for a particular animal to be available to be seen. An entire list, including photographs and descriptions, of all the group's adoptable animals can be found on its website.
