Patch Picks: 5 Family-Friendly Restaurants

Family dining in Wyandotte includes Mexican food, subs, burgers and pizza.

Picking a restaurant can often be a difficult task for parents who are dining out with young children. Finding a place with menu options that are suitable for the entire family can be challenging. Wyandotte, however, is home to certain dining spots that should please both kids and adults.

Here are five family-friendly restaurants in Wyandotte:

No item on the menu at Joe’s Hamburgers is more then $5 and the small sliders are perfectly sized for kids and adults. Kids who aren't ready for a loaded-up burger can order a hot dog, grilled cheese or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. For dessert, ice cream scoops, shakes and even deep-fried Twinkies can be fun and tasty choices for mom, dad or the kids.

Sandwiches at Jimmy John's are made and served up fast, leaving very little time for the kids to get bored. Jimmy John’s is a great spot to have lunch while downtown, either eating in, getting delivery or carrying out for a picnic at the park. Sandwich sizes are limited, but can easily be cut in half, or smaller pieces, for the little one who can’t eat so much just yet. For dessert, Jimmy John’s has giant chocolate chip cookies that almost everyone loves.

The Big Boy kid’s menu offers smaller portions of many classic breakfast, lunch and dinner favorites. Coloring activities are brought to the young ones for some fun while waiting on their meals. For the adults, there are tasty favorites like the Farmer’s Omelette, the classic Big Boy burger or Pot Roast dinner.

Angelina’s Mexican Restaurant is well known for generous portions of tasty authentic food. Children are welcome to enjoy it as well. Smaller kid’s dinners are served with just one bean burrito or cheese quesadilla, along with beans and rice. If not interested in Mexican fare just yet, the young ones can order a cheeseburger or chicken strips.

A menu with choices from around the world helps make Solero Café popular with adults. At the same time, many families with kids enjoy the restaurant’s brick oven pizza, which is half off on Saturdays. A kid’s menu with spaghetti, burgers and chicken strips is available as well.
