Patch Picks: 5 Wyandotte Ice Cream Shops

When it comes to ice cream, Wyandotte shops offer tradition, variety and flavor.

A favorite summertime activity for many people is a trip to the ice cream shop. A couple heaping scoops of the cold confection offers a great way to cool off while also enjoying a tasty treat. For those living in Wyandotte, finding a place to serve it up is certainly not a problem.

Known for its delicious 44 flavors and generous scoops, Stroh’s Ice Cream Parlour has been popular for decades. At any given time, the shop is packed with people ordering cones, sundaes and other frozen treats. Plentiful seating allows customers to enjoy ice cream on the spot. Many also head out, ice cream in-hand, and enjoy a walk through downtown Wyandotte.

With 39 flavors of soft serve ice cream to choose from, Twist & Shout has something for almost everyone. Flavors like French vanilla or strawberry should satisfy those looking for a traditional taste. A Wyandotte tradition since 1947, Bob Jo’s Frozen Custard is a popular spot that is hard to resist while heading down Fort Street. Open seasonally, ice cream, frozen custard and milkshakes can all be ordered from the small shop. Outdoor seating is provided in front of the building, allowing for families or friends to gather and enjoy their treats.

Visitors to Cold Stone Creamery can design their own personalized ice cream creations. Candy, nuts, whipped topping, fruit and even cake can be added to an ice cream flavor(s) of choice. Instead of traditional small, medium or large sizes, Coldstone options are: Like It, Love It and Gotta Have It.

Sanders Candy & Dessert Shop

Sanders Candy & Dessert Shop use their famous toppings to create irresistible ice cream treats. When added to ice cream, toppings like milk chocolate, hot fudge or classic caramel make for a dessert few can match. Although only in Wyandotte for a few years, the Sanders company has been in business since 1875. Sanders is located at 3042 Biddle Ave.
