Reyna, Trudy Are Looking For New Homes

Wyandotte Animal Pound, Shelter to Home and WAG Animal Rescue have a multitude of animals available for adoption.

Each week, Wyandotte Patch features adoptable pets from Wyandotte.

Rose Darin, a volunteer at the Wyandotte Animal Pound, introduces us to Reyna and Trudy the cats:

Reyna is a young orange and white tabby. She is a very shy cat who was born outside. She will need a quiet home that will give her the time she needs to feel safe and loved. She was brought in with her sister who has been pulled to a rescue, and she is in a community cage with another cat that she loves, so she should do well in a house with other cats. She is spayed, current on routine vaccines and rabies, tested negative for feline AIDS and leukemia, litter box trained and dewormed.

Trudy is a domestic short hair, black and white cat. She is a very docile cat who enjoys being around quiet people. She would be a great addition to any mature home. Trudy has a gentle nature, but loves to people watch. She is spayed, current on routine vaccines and rabies, tested negative for feline AIDS and leukemia , litter box trained and dewormed. She was found as a stray, but was obviously someone’s loved pet at some point. She deserves to have a loving family again who will keep her safe.

The Wyandotte Animal Pound is located at 1170 Grove St. Adoptions are done 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday. An entire list, including photographs and descriptions, of all the pound's adoptable animals can be found on its website. The pound also can be contacted through email.

Cathy McCormick, a volunteer with Shelter to Home, introduces us to Emily and Natalie the cats:

Emily and Natalie were saved from a local shelter when they were just 4-5 weeks old. They have been with our rescue for almost a year now, though we’re not sure why because they have great personalities. Natalie and Emily are both very social, love to play, and love to give kisses. They get along well with other cats and they enjoy being with people as much as each other. Emily is not too fond of dogs. When they’re not playing, they can often be found grooming each other or cuddling up in a cozy spot together. Because they are so close, we are looking to have them adopted together. Natalie and Emily have been spayed, tested negative for feline AIDS and leukemia and current on vaccines.

The Shelter to Home Pet Adoption Center is located at 266 Oak St. Adoptions are done by appointment only. The Pet Adoption Center is open from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays for tours and visiting with some of our adoptable cats in a home-like setting. Cats also are on display in the Luv-A-Pet Center at the Canton PetSmart, 41856 Ford Road. An entire list, including photographs and descriptions, of all Shelter to Home's adoptable animals can be found on its website. Shelter to Home can be contacted by phone at 734-556-3135 and through email.

Emily Solomchuck, a volunteer at WAG Animal Rescue, introduces us to Razzle Dazzle the cat and Delgodo the dog:

Razzle Dazzle is an 11-month-old domestic short hair female cat. She is one unique looking black cat. She is super friendly and very loving. She is spayed, up-to-date with routine shots and is house trained.

Delgodo is a 6-month-old Chihuahua weighing in at just 3 pounds, 12 ounces. He is a super happy little dog. He is very sweet and loves to cuddle. Delgodo is great with other small dogs and children. He is a little scared of a cat that he stays with, but will come around the cat after some time. He is neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, treated with flea and heartworm prevention, and is micro chipped. Delgodo must have a fenced-in yard and a family without any small children.

Anyone interested in adopting an animal from WAG is encouraged to visit the group's website and fill out an application online. The group's animals are on display every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Livonia PetSmart, 13150 Middlebelt. As not all animals are brought up each week, potential adopters are encouraged to email the group to make arrangements for a particular animal to be available to be seen. An entire list, including photographs and descriptions, of all the group's adoptable animals can be found on its website.
