SUV Hits Monroe Bank & Trust in Wyandotte, Patch Reader Snaps a Pic

A Wyandotte Patch reader snapped a quick pic of an incident at Monroe Bank & Trust.

The driver of a sport utility vehicle lost control in the Monroe Bank & Trust, 467 Eureka, parking lot and hit the side of the building at about 11 a.m. Monday.

Wyandotte police and fire departments were on scene to assist the driver who was not injured.

John Betrus, director of marketing at Monroe Bank & Trust, said the damage to the building was minimal.

"No MBT (Monroe Bank & Trust) staff or vehicle occupants were injured," Betrus said. "No one was transported to hospital and no one was treated at the scene."

The driver reportedly hit the gas instead of the brake, drove onto the sidewalk and made contact with the building's facade.

Wyandotte police are investigating the incident.

The driver was not arrested.
