Wayne County Drivers Can Expect I-94 Delays

The Michigan Department of Transportation cites several construction projects this weekend on I-94.

Wayne County motorists mapping out their weekend travel plans can keep the following construction projects in mind, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation:

  • Eastbound and westbound I-94 between Cadieux Road and Conner Avenue will have left lane closures from 9 p.m. Saturday until 8 a.m. Sunday for lighting and sign work.
  • The westbound I-94 exit and entrance ramps at Chalmers/Outer Drive will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. Friday for lighting work.
  • The left lane of eastbound I-94 will be closed from 30th Street to I-96 from 8 p.m. Friday until 10 p.m. Sunday for ongoing bridge work at West Grand Boulevard overpass.
  • Eastbound and westbound I-94 between 8 Mile and Cadieux roads will have temporary left lane closures for lighting and sign work.
  • Eastbound and westbound I-94 between Michigan and Livernois avenues will have overnight double-lane closures from 9 p.m. Friday until 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, and by 5 a.m. Monday. The exception will be Saturday, when the eastbound lane closures will be pulled back by 4 a.m. to accommodate special event traffic heading into downtown Detroit.
  • The ramp from eastbound I-94 to eastbound I-96 will be closed for maintenance from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
