Which Cable, Internet Service Providers Would You Like to See Offered in Wyandotte?

Wyandotte cable plans to offer more HD channels, enhanced Internet service and online access to content in the coming months.

The Wyandotte Municipal Services Commission, which oversees the city’s utilities, said today that the city plans to offer new cable and Internet features in 2014.

“We will be offering more HD channels, enhanced Internet service and online access to content,” Steve Timcoe, Wyandotte’s telecommunications superintendent, said.

Contrary to popular belief, Wyandotte cable is not the only provider in the city. Although Comcast and WOW! services are not available, other providers like DirecTV, AT&T U-Verse (available only in selected areas) and Dish Network are obtainable through subscription.

About 72 percent of residents subscribe to the city’s cable or Internet, Timcoe told Patch in 2011.

Head-to-head “we are the best value in Wyandotte,” he said.

What do you think?

Increase the bandwidth. 10 down for the price is a little crazy.

Chris is right, for the money you'd pay for 10 down it should be at least 20 with no monthly bandwidth limits.

I do NOT like the on demand choices for Wyandotte cable. I'm a former Comcast subscriber and I'd much rather have Comcast than Wyandotte. Wyandotte offers nothing on on demand.

Eliminate all but 20-30 analog channels to recapture system bandwidth, broadcast the ENTIRE channel list in digital or HD, offer a reasonable PPV / on demand package and upgrade basic internet to at least 20mb downstream and 5mb upstream speeds.

The quote from above "Head-to-head" we are the best value in Wyandotte" is probably correct because many other providers are not allowed to be offered in Wyandotte. Make it a FAIR playing field, then we will Wyandotte public will decide what the "best value in Wyandotte is".

Wyandotte cable and Internet is only $9 dollars cheaper then my AT&T but the service and programming that AT&T provides is way better. I had Wyandotte services for years and it sucks. Also why is it that you say you get all these channels but the majority of the channels are public access channels that are free? And whenever my service would go down it would take days for service people to come out. Step up your game and offer more, your small and are very capable to offer the people more then big corporations.

I always had WOW before I moved to Wyandotte and was so upset that I couldn't have WOW when I moved here. I would love to be able to have WOW in Wyandotte. I have been having a lot of problems with my internet, it is just ridiculous.
