Wyandotte Speaks: City's Cable, Internet Service Not as Good as Advertised

Majority of residents online agree: Wyandotte Cable services are below par.

While Wyandotte Cable is planning to offer enhancements to its services in the coming months, some residents wish more were in the works.

Chris Odg said: "Increase the bandwidth. $10 down for the price is a little crazy."

Melinda Borden
said: "I do not like the 'On Demand' choices for Wyandotte cable. I'm a former Comcast subscriber and I'd much rather have Comcast than Wyandotte. Wyandotte offers nothing on 'On Demand'."

Doug Melzer said: "Eliminate all but 20-30 analog channels to recapture system bandwidth, broadcast the ENTIRE channel list in digital or HD, offer a reasonable PPV / 'On Demand' package and upgrade basic internet to at least 20 megabytes downstream and 5 mb upstream speeds."

Sue Thorne
said: "I always had WOW before I moved to Wyandotte and was so upset that I couldn't have WOW when I moved here. I would love to be able to have it in Wyandotte. I have been having a lot of problems with my internet, it is just ridiculous."

Brain Melvin said: "...why is it that (Wyandotte Cable) says (we) get all these channels but the majority of the channels" that are free are public access? And whenever my service goes down, it takes days for (technicians) to come out. "Step up your game and offer more, you're small and...very capable of offering the people more than the big corporations."

Residents also chimed in on Facebook

Kathy Slack said: "I would be content with keeping city services, but they are really going to need to become more competitive with pricing. Uverse offers more services and they often have specials."

Tammie Kozicki said: "I would like WOW. I had them before I moved here. We pay way too much for city cable and internet.

Helen Wallace said: "If it's not a better package then what I have, I will change to AT&T. Wyandotte is just too high in cost and you don't get as much as other companies offer. As a home owner...in Wyandotte, I pay $67 more a month for less cable, less internet speed and (unreliable) phone service...I will go with the better deal once I find out what (Wyandotte Cable) offers in 2014."
