'Art, Music + Performance' Takes Over Wyandotte

Friday night event will fill the void of Third Friday, which was canceled this month due to the art fair.

Street performers, artists and musicians will fill the streets of downtown Wyandotte until 9 p.m. tonight.

The city's first is an additional event on top of the monthly Third Friday celebrations.

The July Third Friday event was canceled as it came during the same week as the .

Business owners still wanted to have an outside event in July and through their collaboration, Art, Music + Performance was born, according to Natalie Rankin, director of the city's Downtown Development Authority.

The owners of , and helped coordinate the event, which will offer free trolley rides up and down Biddle throughout the evening.

"This mini-event will showcase some of the street musicians and artists that took part in the street fair and also a few new ones," Rankine said.

If all goes well, she said, Art, Music + Performance could become a regular event.

"There is nothing more that I would love than to have the streets of Wyandotte filled each Friday with artists, musicians and bustling with activity," Rankine said.
