Fifty Amp Fuse to Highlight Two Nights of 2013 Wyandotte Street Art Fair

For the second consecutive year, the popular cover band will perform two nights of the fair.

The popular cover band Fifty Amp Fuse doubled its act last year, playing two nights rather than the typical one at the Wyandotte Street Art Fair.

The response was significant enough that art fair organizers have booked them again for two nights of this year's fair.

The 10-piece band will perform July 11 and 12. Each performance will last four hours.

"(Last year,) Fifty Amp Fuse performed for two nights and it increased our beverages sales immensely," Heather Thiede, the city's special event coordinator, wrote in a letter to city officials. "We feel that this group will once again provide excellent entertainment and will help make our downtown a destination of choice for residents of not only southeast Michigan but to the numerous visitors from various states who are attending our art fair."

The band will be paid $13,000. The money will come from the art fair's budget. City Council members unanimously approved the expenditure at Monday night's meeting.
