Fifty Amp Fuse Will Bring 2 1/2-Hour Show to the Wyandotte Street Art Fair on Friday Night

Fifty Amp Fuse's musicians have worked with Ringo Starr, Billy Joel and Peter Frampton.

Legendary local band Fifty Amp Fuse is headlining the on Friday night with their "Your Generation in Concert" show, which covers more than five decades of rock and roll history.

Steve Trudell is the band's manager and designed the show with guitarist and vocalist Remy Lambert. Trudell said festival goers can expect a high energy show with a setlist that makes generations of rock and roll fans happy.

"We're really going to give people a lot," Trudell said. "Probably two or three encores."

Trudell and Lambert dreamed up the "Your Generation in Concert" idea almost four years ago. The band they put together is a group of music industry heavyweights.

Member Tommy Byrnes was the music director for Billy Joel's band. Mark Rivera was the music director for Ringo Starr's band. Trudell himself has put together orchestras and choirs for the likes of Peter Frampton, Josh Groban and Michael Buble.

Still, even with such an impressive lineup of players, putting together a band is never easy. Bands like this often don't "click," Trudell said. The musicians are based in places as far apart as Los Angeles, New York and Michigan.

"We put it together and it took," Trudell said. "There was chemistry. "We got a band's band."

Fifty Amp Fuse not only took, but the band took it and ran with it. The band plays 250 shows a year nationwide. There also are plans to take the show international starting next year.

The band is successful, Trudell said, because of its impressive live show. Often times complemented by a multimedia program as well as choirs and orchestras, the Wyandotte version will feature a nine-piece band with three singers. And go-go dancers.

"It's really a great time with five decades of music," Trudell said. "The crowd goes crazy with energy and the band feeds off that."

Your Generation in Concert, performed by Fifty Amp Fuse, will start in the 1960's and take festival goers on a musical journey all the way through today. The show runs from 8:30 to 11 p.m. Friday.
