Images & Ancestors: Adventures in Local History

Available now at Bacon Memorial Library

Ghostly Footsteps

We walk in the ghostly footsteps of those who have gone before. Every acre, every inch of Wyandotte has seen its share of notable events or everyday dramas.

A newly published book by Bacon Librarian Wallace Hayden titled Images & Ancestors: Adventures in Local History contains 60 stories that introduce the reader to a colorful cast of characters from Wyandotte’s past, including saloonkeepers and lighthouse keepers, factory girls and professors, merchants and mariners, aviators and hippies, exotic dancers and ghosts.

These true stories are expanded versions of articles that have appeared in the News Herald over the last five years. The 146 page book includes nearly 100 photographs and is made possible through a partnership between the Bacon Library and the Wyandotte Historical Society.

The book presents our history in a lively and entertaining style and makes a unique gift. It sells for $ 15.00 and is available at the Bacon Library.
