Each week, Wyandotte Patch editors and readers will pick a great restaurant either in town or nearby whose cuisine is considered to reign supreme.
Here’s this week’s choice:
Greatest Dish Ever: The Italian (9” $5.39, 18” $9.79) is an overloaded grinder that should satisfy even the biggest of appetites. Ham, salami, sausage, mushrooms, onion, green peppers, lettuce, tomato and cheese are stuffed between two slices of toasted bread.
Don't Miss: The Slammer (medium $17.19, large $19.29) is a pizza with one of the most unique combinations of toppings possible. Pepperoni, onions and mushrooms are combined with marinated chicken breast, steak and cheddar cheese.
Overview: A chain restaurant that quickly serves up Italian food at value prices. Diners can either eat in and relax in the informal atmosphere or opt for take out. Food orders are made at the front counter, similar to the method used in fast food. Constant specials and a kids' menu make it an attractive lunch or dinner option for many families. At times it is also a popular teen hangout due to the close proximity to .
The Drinks: Pepsi products are available on the beverage fountain or in 2-liter bottles to go.
Entrees: Twenty-one different grinders are listed on the menu, including a ham and cheese (9” $5.09, 18” $8.89) and a crabmeat (9” $5.59, 18” $10.09). Pizzas (14” w/cheese $10.45, 16” w/cheese $12.00) can be ordered with any of the 18 toppings available. A dozen specialty pizzas include the Seafood (14” $16.19, 16” 18.29) and the BLT (14” $15.49, 16” $17.79). Sandwich wraps, including The Club Wrap ($4.99) and Southwest Chicken ($5.49), also are available.
Sides: The Nachos Supreme ($5.99) is piled high with taco meat, onions, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, taco sauce, black olives, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. Chicken wings can be bought in sizes of eight ($5.99), 16 ($9.99) or 32 ($16.99). The Chef Salad ($5.99) and Grilled Chicken Salad ($5.99) are two of seven different salads that can be ordered.
Service: There is not a true waitstaff because food orders are taken at the front counter. However, the workers in other areas of the restaurant are typically courteous, friendly and mindful of customer needs. The employees taking orders at the counter are usually very knowledgeable of the menu.
