Hospital's Rehab Services Moving to Former Blockbuster Location Across the Street

Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital has taken the first steps in moving its rehabilitation services out of the and into the former Blockbuster location across the street.

The move to the other side of Biddle and Eureka is expected to be completed early next year, spokeswoman Stephanie Scheer said.

The hospital’s new Physical Rehab Services Center will offer more parking and easier ground-floor access for patients, Scheer said. It currently is on the third floor of the bank building.

The center is staffed with therapists who specialize in a number of services, including speech, sports and massage therapy.

Currently, Chase occupies the first floor of the building and the hospital occupies the third and fourth floors.

The proposal has Chase staying on the first floor, but possibly only occupying half of the 11,000-square-foot space. The hospital will move out, allowing City Hall to occupy the remaining 3 1/2 floors.

The hospital’s orthopedic unit is still searching for a spot to relocate to, but intends to remain in Wyandotte, City Administrator Todd Drysdale said.
