How Many Sliders Do You Think You Could Eat?

Joe's Hamburgers owner Jeremy Sladovnik's plans to throw an anniversary party expected to include a slider eating contest and an amateur cheeseburger competition—to celebrate four years in the burger business.

The record in Wyandotte for most Joe's Hamburgers sliders eaten in ten minutes was set at 19 sliders last year.

Think you can beat it?

Those wishing to take the top slider eating spot will have a chance at the fourth annual anniversary party for Joe's Hamburgers.

Wyandotte City Council members approved a request to transform the vacant lot at First and Elm Streets into a hamburger paradise from noon to 10 p.m. Oct. 5.

Owner Jeremy Sladovnik plans to throw a a party similar to previous years including a slider eating contest. 

Sladovnik also plans to have:

  • Live music including music from national act The Rockets.
  • An amateur and professional cheeseburger making contests.
  • Games including a corn hole tournament.
  • A slider eating contest featuring only Wyandotte City Council members.
Part of the proceeds from the anniversary celebration will go to support Sladovnik's non-profit organization Stars Shining Through.

"I really just want this to be fun," Sladovnik said.
