LTB's Owner Says Rebuilt Site Will Be 'Bigger and Better'

The popular Lions & Tigers & Beers Sports Club is expected to reopen in phases later this year.

In case anyone is wondering about the future of Lions & Tigers & Beers Sports Club, owner Ed Sollars wants to set the record straight.

"I want to make sure everyone knows that we are rebuilding," he told a crowd at a recent comedy show fundraiser. "We're going to be bigger and better. We have plans for craft beer bars, wine bars, it's going to be a complex."

A June 10 fire destroyed the longtime sports bar, fueling some people to wonder about the future of the business.

But Sollars, who owns it along with his brothers, Everett and Brian, said the future is bright. At the time of the fire, the business was already preparing to expand into an empty adjacent storefront.

"We are going to continue that expansion," he said. "We should be open sometime in 2013, in phases. We'll have the new side open, then we'll have the old side rebuilt. It's going to be greater and better than ever."
