Nanna's Kitchen to Whip up Butternut Squash Soup at Wyandotte Farmers Market

Restaurant owner Steve Mikhail will have free samples during the market's Farm to Fork event today.

A Wyandotte restaurant owner will be shopping, cooking and then handing out free samples of a dish created with items available from the Wyandotte Farmers Market.

Steve Mikhail of Nanna's Kitchen will be whipping up some butternut squash soup. He'll purchase the ingredients at the market, cook it inside his business and then serve up free samples in his tent at the market from 1 to 3 p.m. Thursday.

The event, being called Farm to Fork, is intended to "dazzle you with culinary delights made from products at our market," according to Natalie Rankine, director of the Wyandotte Downtown Development Authority, which sponsors the weekly market.
