Toyota Considering Wyandotte Park for Television Commercial

A Tennessee-based film company requested permission from Wyandotte City Council members to use BASF Waterfront Park for a commercial at Monday's city council meeting.

BASF Waterfront Park in Wyandotte could be featured in an upcoming television commercial for Toyota.

Representatives of Strader Films in Brentwood, TN requested permission from Wyandotte City Council members to shoot a Toyota commercial at the park from Aug. 13-15.

Council members reviewed the request at Monday's city council meeting. The request was deferred to the city attorney. Council members could approve the request at the next city council meeting on Aug. 5.

Deputy City Clerk Maria Johnson said the request and all additional information was faxed to the city attorney's office and anticipates a response in 24 hours.

The request included use of the park and nearby boat club. The film crews also requested to have control over some park lighting and to take down signs. Any signs taken down during the filming of the commercial would be put back up after filming ends.
