Maybe it's the Christmas bulb earrings you got as a gift from a well-meaning friend, or the flashy gold chain you got from your spouse that's just not your style.

At some point in our lives, we've all received a piece of jewelry that never makes it out of the jewelry box, but now is the time to put it to use!

In celebration of Milkins Jewelers 108th anniversary, the Wyandotte-based jewelry store and Patch have teamed up to give away a Lovelinks bracelet and three Lovelinks beads to one lucky reader who tells about the ugliest piece of jewelry they've ever received, or sends us a photo of it.

We will pick one winner via random drawing on July 5.

The rules:

• Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia who are 18 and older.
• To enter, add a comment at the end of this article, describing the ugliest piece of jewelry you've ever received. Keep it clean. Or email a photo of the jewelry to jessica.nunez@patch.com.
• All entries must be received by 9 p.m. Friday, July 5, Eastern Time.
• You may enter once.
• One winner will be selected in a random drawing.
