Wyandotte's Daly Merritt Insurance Named to 'Best Places to Work' List

Sixty-five companies across the country were named as the "2012 Best Places to Work in Insurance."

Wyandotte's Daly Merritt Insurance has been selected as one of the "2012 Best Places to Work in Insurance."

Sixty-five companies across the country received the honor, which is given out annually by the weekly newspaper, Business Insurance, in partnership with Best Companies Group, an independent research firm.

"As employers compete for talent and strive to be an employer of choice, Daly Merritt Insurance is among the companies being honored for creating workplaces that do superior jobs of encouraging employees to thrive in a workplace they can love," the company said in a press release.

Companies were judged through a two-part survey evaluation. One aspect focused on employees' workplace experience and company culture, while the other gathered information on the employer's benefits, policies and other practices.

“It is with great pride that Daly Merritt Insurance is recognized as a Best Places to Work in Insurance company”, Martin Daly, the company's president and CEO, said in a written statement. "Daly Merritt Insurance strives to create a working environment and corporate culture that highly values and respects its employees as well as its clients and business partners."

Daly Merritt prides itself on a number of programs and events that benefit its employees, both professionally and personally, spokeswoman Karen Johnson said. For instance, she said, the company often sponsors events for its employees at area eateries to coincide with Wyandotte's monthly Third Friday celebrations.

“Our ability to retain staff and grow their skill sets is a key part of our business strategy to provide our clients with second-to-none service,” Daly said.

The honor will officially be handed out at an Oct. 16 awards luncheon in Chicago.
