28th Annual Somewhere in Time Promises Old-Timey Fun, Delicious Downriver Cuisine in Trenton

Somewhere in Time takes Elizabeth Park back to the early 1900s from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Geeze, Louise! Oh, my stars! The early 1900s hopped into a Ford Model-T time machine and are headed straight for Elizabeth Park!

The 28th annual Somewhere in Time event is set to transform into a picturesque version of the early 1900s, complete with old-fashioned automobiles and a riverboat ride.

The trip down memory lasts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, and there's a number of exciting and nostalgic events planned for the day:

  • An old-fashioned horseshoe blind doubles tournament starts at noon, with registration beginning at 11 a.m. (please bring horseshoes)
  • A riverboat ride aboard one of the famous Diamond Jack River Boats, The Diamond Bell scheduled to depart every hour from 1 to 4 p.m.
  • Pie eating contest at 2:30 p.m. sponsored by the Trenton Business Association
  • Arts and crafts show
  • Bake sale
  • Old-timey games and contests
  • Pony rides
  • Antique car show
  • Live music
  • Food and drinks

“Somewhere in Time is a unique event designed to recapture history, as well as, the rich heritage and beauty of the first Wayne County park, Elizabeth Park,” said Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano in a release.

Patrons can also enjoy food from restaurants across Downriver during the Taste of Trenton and Beyond event. Foodies can sample cuisine from the area's finest restaurants, while picnicking next to the Detroit River.
