Get Ready to Eat! BBQ Ribs Throwdown Set for Friday

The Wyandotte Business Association is hosting a food fest for this month's Third Friday celebration.

If you're a fan of barbeque, there's going to be some good eatin' in downtown Wyandotte on Friday.

Mayor Peterson's 3rd Annual Barbeque Ribs Throwdown is set for 3 to 9 p.m. at Sycamore and Biddle. Food, music, beer and live entertainment are on tap.

A number of chefs from Downriver restaurants will compete to see who has the best ribs.

Certified executive chefs and instructors from Henry Ford Community College will judge the competition. A People's Choice award also will be given. Prizes will be awarded at 7 p.m.

Trenton's Pit Master Barbeque took home the fame last year, with second place going to of Wyandotte and third place to Wyandotte's .

In addition to the competition, food will be available for purchase. There will be ribs, pulled pork, cornbread, baked beans and more.

The band D Tour will perform from 5 to 9 p.m.

will be hosting a Guy's Nite Out challenge from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Maple and Biddle. Detroit Tigers tickets, a Justin Verlander jersey and a tub of Hot Wheels are up for grabs.
