Here's a look at what's happening in and around Wyandotte today.
- Today is expected to be mostly sunny during the day and partly cloudy in the evening, with a high near 80 and a low near 58. There’s a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 a.m. It'll be breezy, with a west wind between 15 and 20 mph, gusting to 32 mph. - The Michigan Department of Education is expected to release the 2011 Michigan Merit Exam results at 10 a.m. today. This is a state-mandated test that all 11th graders must take. Check back later for a story on how students fared on the test.
- Free lunch is being served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 5 at . The is sponsored by the USDA and is open to anyone 18 years or younger, or up to 26 years old with a disability. You do not have to be from Wyandotte to participate. Church officials said Monday night that only a half dozen or so people have been showing up. They asked for everyone to spread the word about the program to ensure that everyone eligible knows that a free hot meal is available.
