Visit the Wyandotte Patch Booth for Some Coloring Fun at Thursday's Wyandotte Farmers Market

The "Go Green! Kids Art Show at the Market" will be held Thursday, along with Arts and Scraps.

This week's has a "green" theme. Here at Wyandotte Patch, where green is the only color we recognize, we're all about joining in on the fun.

Children who visit the Wyandotte Patch booth can pick up a coloring sheet to deck out. A copy also is available for download to the right for those who want to get a jump start.

The sheets can be turned in at the farmers market or at the Wyandotte Patch booth at the . All entries submitted by the last day of the fair–July 16–will be posted on the site for all to see. Please write the name and age of the child artist on the back of the sheet so proper credit can be given.

Children's artwork of a different form will be on display at Thursday's farmers market. Using recycled materials, youngsters created their own artwork showcasing how to make the world a better place to live. 

The will be held Thursday, along with Arts and Scraps, which will be on site with the Scrapmobile for children to make free projects. Children will be able to learn more about the and other things that can make Wyandotte a greener place to live. Children who wear green to the market will receive a prize.

Winning entries from the art show will be on display at during the .

The weekly farmers market is set up at the corner of First and Elm streets and runs from noon till 6 p.m. Thursdays through Oct. 6.

The market also participates in Project Produce, a program that allows customers to purchase produce and deposit it in a specially designated cart at the market. At the end of the day, the donated food is given to the soup kitchen at the Wyandotte and to the , which operates out of in Wyandotte.

Wyandotte Patch is the sponsor of this year's Project Produce.

In addition to the coloring sheets for kids, Wyandotte Patch also will have swag for everyone. Stop by, meet some of our staffers and let us know your thoughts about the site. While there will be takeaways for everyone, the first 25 people who visit the booth and sign up for our daily e-newsletter will receive a special gift.
