Wyandotte city leaders, along with business partners and BASF, have published a new emergency preparedness guide.

The glossy flier is being mailed to residents in their municipal bills, along with a magnet containing emergency contact phone numbers.

The brochure contains tips on evacuating and creating a shelter-in-place in case of a chemical spill. It also contains a checklist of the items to have available at all times in case of an emergency.

The brochure explains the BASF community siren and the city's designated TV and radio stations for emergency information. It gives instructions on how to sign up the free First Call Phone Alert system, which is a free notification system that will disseminate phone calls, emails and text messages in case of an emergency.
