Y & . Morning Minute for July 13

Here's a look at what's happening in and around Wyandotte today.

  1. Today is expected to be mostly sunny during the day and mostly clear in the evening, with a high near 77 and a low near 59. Winds will be coming in from the northwest at about 9 mph, gusting as high as 18 mph. The daily forecast is brought to you by the National Weather Service.
  2. The kicks off at 10 a.m. today and runs through Saturday.
  3. Be sure to add Elm Street, between Biddle and the riverfront, to your must-see spots during the Wyandotte Street Art Fair. That's where the Wyandotte Patch booth is set up. Stop by, pick up some swag, meet some of our staffers and let us know what you think of the site.
  4. If the weather has kept you away from the Wyandotte Street Art Fair in years past, you're in luck this year. There are no 90-degree temps or rain in the forecast throughout the entire four days.
  5. Each weekday, we’ll post a trivia question. If you think you know the answer, submit it as a comment below. Today’s question is: A former mayor of Detroit is credited with naming this region Wyandotte. Who was he and where was his farm located? The answer to is the Gwen Frostic Sculpture. (Congrats to for having the correct answer!)
