Y & . Morning Minute for July 14

Here's a look at what's happening in and around Wyandotte today.

  1. Today is expected to be mostly sunny during the day and mostly cloudy in the evening, with a high near 80 and a low near 64. Winds will be coming in from the northeast at about 7 mph. The daily forecast is brought to you by the National Weather Service.
  2. The kicked off yesterday and runs through Saturday. The art fair is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. nightly. The entertainment portion of the fair runs till 11 p.m. nightly.
  3. Be sure to add Elm Street between Biddle and the riverfront to your must-see spots during the Wyandotte Street Art Fair. That's where the Wyandotte Patch booth is located. Stop by, pick up some swag, meet some of our staffers and let us know what you think of the site.
  4. The weather continues to look bright (but mild!) for the duration of the Wyandotte Street Art Fair. There are no 90-degree temps or rain in the forecast throughout the entire four days. (Note the high temps coming immediately afterward though. Thanks for holding off, heat.)
  5. Each weekday, we’ll post a trivia question. If you think you know the answer, submit it as a comment below. Today’s question is: The Wyandotte Shipyards started operations in 1871 and produced many hulls, including the former Boblo boat, the Columbia. In what year did the shipyard close? The answer to is Major John Biddle located in the area of Biddle Avenue and Vinewood Avenue. (Congrats to for having the correct answer!)
