Here's a look at what's happening in and around Wyandotte today.

  1. It's cooling down. Whew. Today is expected to be partly sunny during the day and mostly cloudy in the evening, with a high near 91 and a low near 74. Winds will be coming in from the northeast at about 11 mph, gusting as high as 18 mph. There's a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms during the day and a 20 percent in the evening.   3. The city of Wyandotte has opened the as a cooling center for residents needing some relief from the heat. will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today.
  4. The movie will be shown for free at dusk tonight at the corner of Elm and First streets. The movie runs in conjunction with the city's series. Refreshments will be sold, but moviegoers also can bring their own. Lawn chairs or blankets are recommended.
