You've Got Photos: Wyandotte's Layer Cake Contest

Cash prizes were awarded to the top three bakers as part of January's Third Friday celebration.

Twenty-six homemade cakes were taste tested and judged Friday night in the front window of White Furniture as part of January's Third Friday celebration.

Cash prizes were given to the top three bakers.

In first place, Tiffany Muroski walked away with $100. Stephanie Pride finished second and won $75 and Patricia Farrell came in third with $50. Each also received a trophy.

A set of judges, including three people from the culinary arts program at Henry Ford Community College, chose the winners.

After the contest, shoppers were able to purchase cake slices for $1 each, with proceeds going to the Wyandotte Fire Department.

I missed it this time but I won't miss it next time. Looks like everyone had fun. By the way, if they need a judge for next time...... Richard
