Backpackpalooza Downriver

Henry Ford
Wyandotte Hospital will partner with local non-profit organization Operation:
Kid Equip (OKE), and Affinity Group Credit Union (AGCU) to provide Downriver
children with free backpacks, school supplies and books for the upcoming school
year at Backpackpalooza Downriver.

The one-day event will start at 10 a.m. and
run while supplies last Saturday, Aug. 10 at the Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital,
located at 2333 Biddle Ave. in Wyandotte.


Free
backpacks and school supplies provided by the three partnering organizations
will be distributed to school-age children. Also on hand will be Henry Ford
Wyandotte experts to provide free blood pressure checks, as well as some fun
activities for children and families hosted by Henry Ford Wyandotte and AGCU’s
WySouth teams.

The event is
open to the community and no registration is needed. Supplies are limited.

There is no income
requirement, but children must be present and accompanied by an adult to
receive a backpack and supplies.
