Eat Smart, Live Strong

A Class Abouth Fruits, Vegetables, Exercise, and Shopping

MSU Extension is happy to bring to Wyandotte a class at NO CHARGE that will be for those ages 55 and older running six sessions over six weeks.  The classes are scheduled for Wednesdays beginning July  30 and continues until September 3 from 1:30-2:30 pm at the William R. Copeland Center, 2306 Fourth St., Wyandotte.  The class is called Eat Smart, Live Strong, and focuses on three areas: getting enough fruits and vegetables every day, getting half an hour a day of physical activity, and cues for saving money when shopping. The exercises consist of simple stretching and mobility exercises, nothing strenuous. We have a few FOOD TASTINGS throughout, and some games/activities. The class lasts six weeks, about an hour each week. There is a behaviors checklist,  24 hrs food recall and enrollment form that people fill out at the beginning and end of the six weeks. The class is FREE, subsidized by the USDA.  Limited spots are available, so register now by contacting the Copeland Center Office, Monday-Friday between 8:00 am - 3:00 pm (Thursdays until 2:00 pm) or leave a message with your name and phone number at 734-324-7275
