Paint 'n Party Returns to Wyandotte

Paint 'n Party for Seniors

Long time local artist and teacher, Cathy will be coming back again to the Copeland Center on Monday, August 11 to once again bring to our seniors a "Paint 'n Party" 11:30 am - 2:30 pm. Cathy provides supplies needed including the canvas, an apron, paint and brushes, and the instruction to be able to enjoy creating their acrylic painting.  Last month Cathy led a group in painting a scene of a morning sunrise view over the Detroit River from the Bishop Park.  From the positive experience of that Paint 'n Party, the requests to have another one came forward.  Those who may wish to sign up could be folks who enjoy drawing or painting already, but the real beauty is introducing people who would like to try a new hobby or have said "I always wanted to try to learn to paint...I can only draw stick figures". The 3 hrs. goes by fast and each person goes home with their finished acrylic painting that they'll be proud to hang. Picture used as a sample this time will be a wooded scene of birch trees with some colorful brush.  Cathy uses the "Sample" as a guide as she walks everyone through the steps.  It's fun to see how everyone has their own unique touch, strokes or mixture of color. Light snacks will be provided with plenty of fun. Cost of $30 payable by cash or check made out to Frame World which is a special discount price for this opportunity.  Spaces are limited, so don't delay. The Copeland Center office (phone # 734-324-7275) is open Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 3:00 pm except Thursday until 2:00 pm. So come sign up to try something new! You may just become a regular participant once you find how much you like it.
