Pewabic Pottery Hosts 22nd Annual Empty Bowls Event

Detroit's iconic Pewabic Pottery hosts its 22nd annual Empty Bowl fundraiser Saturday, February 22, 2014 at their historic Eastside studio - 10125 E. Jefferson from 11am - 2pm. The event, which includes a silent auction of unique bowls designed by local artists, raises funds in support of Gleaners Community Food Banks mission of providing emergency food to those in need.

In addition to the silent auction, supporters will have the chance to purchase unique bowls designed by local artists and students, priced between $5 and $30. Over 400 bowls have been created and donated for the event. Attendees who purchase a bowl will be treated to a complementary lunch featuring a wide selection of soups (including vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free types) and freshly baked breads. The popular area restaurants and bakeries participating include:
Beverly Hills Grill, Lunch Time Detroit, Polish Village Cafe, Russell Street Deli, Sinbad's, St. John Hospital, Vivo's Food and Spirits and Zoup! Fresh baked bread provided by Bona-Ventures LLC and Julian Brothers.
