Wyandotte – Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital is sponsoring a free pre-diabetes seminar 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, 2333 Biddle Ave. in multipurpose rooms A&B.

More than 2.6 million adults in Michigan have pre-diabetes.

Pre-diabetes is a condition where people have higher than normal blood glucose levels, but not yet high enough to be diagnosed with diabetes, according to the Michigan Department of Community Health.
 
They are at increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes, and are at higher risk of heart disease and stroke.

November is American Diabetes Month and a perfect time to learn more about high blood sugar, pre-diabetes and health tips to help prevent Type 2 diabetes.

At the seminar, a soup and salad dinner will be provided.
